Reposted from @hannahmedicalclinic An interesting study done recently, highlights the fact that as aware as women are of ovarian cancer, there are still some pervasive misconceptions prevalent.

‘A survey of 494 Australian women conducted in 2020 by the University of Melbourne and the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation found that while recognition of this particular cancer is high – 95% of women are aware – many women have poor understanding of the disease.’

There is no way to detect ovarian cancer early, so it is vital that women are aware of any symptoms that may suggest something is not right. Women know their bodies best, and they need to act on any concerns.

Outside of medications & hormone treatments; other options to improve your sex drive can include sex education, counseling and lifestyle changes such as:

〰️ 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙚. Regular aerobic exercise and strength training can increase your stamina, improve your body image, lift your mood and boost your libido.

〰️ 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩. Find a better way to cope with work stress, financial stress and daily hassles can enhance your sex drive.

〰️ 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧. Couples who learn to communicate in an open, honest way usually maintain a stronger emotional connection, which can lead to better sex. Communicating about sex also is important. Talking about your likes and dislikes can set the stage for greater sexual intimacy.

〰️ 𝙎𝙚𝙩 𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙮. Scheduling sex into your calendar may seem contrived and boring. But making intimacy a priority can help put your sex drive back on track.

〰️ 𝘼𝙙𝙙 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙚𝙭 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚. Try a different sexual position, a different time of day or a different location for sex. Ask your partner to spend more time on foreplay. If you and your partner are open to experimentation, sex toys and fantasy can help rekindle your sexual desire.

〰️𝘿𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙗𝙖𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙨. Smoking, illegal drugs and excess alcohol can all dampen your sex drive.

There is no magic number to define low sex drive. Every woman is different.

If you notice your craving for physical intimacy dips during your 30's, don’t be surprised. Testosterone is on the decline during this life stage, for starters. This dip can cause a natural decrease in your sex drive.

The 30's are a prime decade for baby-making. The hormone shifts that occur through each trimester and then during breastfeeding can also trigger a lack of desire. Add in the crazy fatigue many new moms deal with, and it makes sense that the desire you felt when you were baby-free is very different than your new mom libido.

Plus, this is usually a busy decade for women, full of career building & of course 'adulting'.
